Research Summary

Dr. Leung’s primary interests include the use of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), with a focus on point-of-care echocardiography and hemodynamics. He is a member of the Pediatric POCUS Committee — a multidivisional collaboration committed to education about and use of POCUS at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.

Dr. Leung is also involved in multiple quality improvement projects, including a large-scale initiative to help prevent bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), by rewriting ventilatory management guidelines in the NICU and developing a multidisciplinary collaborative group to manage long-term, severe BPD.
