Dr. Laufer is a radiation oncologist who treats all types of cancer, with a particular interest in treating thoracic and gastrointestinal malignancies. She treats patients at both the Johns Hopkins Thoracic Center of Excellence at Johns Hopkins Bayview and at Central Maryland Radiation Oncology on the campus of Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center. She is experienced in advanced radiation treatment modalities including intensity-modulated radiation therapy, stereotactic body radiation therapy, MR-guided SBRT, adaptive radiotherapy, HDR and LDR brachytherapy, and radiopharmaceuticals.
Research Interests
Dr. Laufer's academic work has resulted in several peer-reviewed publications, and she has presented at multiple national scientific meetings. She participated in the AACR Molecular Biology in Clinical Oncology Workshop and is also a recipient of the RSNA Resident Research Grant for her ongoing work on the role of tumor microenvironment lipid metabolism in radioresistance of pancreas cancer.
