Swaroop Vedula, MBBS, MPH, PhD

Swaroop Vedula is a physician with postgraduate training in surgery, epidemiology and computer science. His research in surgical data science draws on methods from several disciplines including computer science (machine learning, robotics), epidemiology and biostatistics. His recent research involves technologies to accelerate acquiring surgical skills and to sustain them, robotic assistance for surgical skill development and surgical coaching, clinical prediction models using multiple types of data, and measuring surgical skill and competency. Dr. Vedula co-directs the Johns Hopkins artificial intelligence for surgery laboratory.
