Steven H Bernstein, MD

Dr. Steven H. Bernstein is an orthopaedic surgeon at Sibley Memorial Hospital. Dr. Bernstein practices out of Summit Orthopedics in Chevy Chase, MD.

Dr. Bernstein focuses on sports related injuries with an expertise in arthroscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder and ankle. His clinical interests include shoulder instability, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, cartilage injury, patellar instability and meniscal repair.

Dr. Bernstein earned his medical degree from Brown University Medical School. He completed an orthopaedic residency at University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, followed by an orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at Washington University. During his fellowship, Dr. Bernstein was an assistant team physician for the St. Louis Rams, Blues and Cardinals. Dr. Bernstein still provides medical assistance for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team during spring training.

Dr. Bernstein is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr. Bernstein has expanded his expertise in sports medicine by contributing to publications in the American Journal of Sports Medicine.
