Dr. Shivani Patel is an assistant professor of anesthesiology and critical care medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Her areas of clinical expertise include pediatric anesthesiology and critical care.
Dr. Patel received her medical degree from Topiwala National Medical College in Mumbai, India. She completed residencies in anesthesiology at Seth G.S. Medical College in Mumbai and University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She performed a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Patel joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2010.
Dr. Patel’s research interests include improving intraoperative resuscitation in the pediatric operating room.
In August 2014, Dr. Patel was recognized as a “Service Star” by the Johns Hopkins Department of Service Excellence. She is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiology, the Society of Pediatric Anesthesia and the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.
