Background

Scott Krummey earned his B.A. in Molecular Biology at Colgate University. He earned M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from Emory University School of Medicine. He completed residency in Clinical Pathology and fellowship in Histocompatibility & Immunogenetics at Emory University. He is an Associate Director of the Immunogenetics Laboratory at Johns Hopkins.

Dr. Krummey’s research interests are in understanding cellular mechanisms of alloimmunity, with a focus on how cosignaling receptors and antigen recognition pathways can be exploited to restrain the lymphocytes that cause graft rejection. His laboratory studies mouse and human graft-specific CD8+ T cells, CD4+ T cells, and B cells using including MHC tetramers, transgenic mouse models, and high-dimensional flow cytometry.
