Samir Satish Rao, MD

Dr. Samir S. Rao is a plastic surgeon affiliated with Sibley Memorial Hospital, Suburban Hospital, Inova Fairfax Hospital, MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and Southern Maryland Hospital Center. He practices out of Center for Plastic Surgery, located in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

Dr. Rao has expertise in abdominoplasty; botulinum toxin injections; breast augmentation, reconstruction and reduction; brow lift; liposuction; melanoma; neck lift; skin graft; Brazilian butt lift; and feminine rejuvenation surgeries.

Dr. Rao earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester and his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Rao completed his residency in plastic surgery at Georgetown University Hospital, as well as training in basic and advanced microsurgical techniques at The Curtis National Hand Center. Currently, Dr. Rao performs reconstructive surgery for the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington; participates in Fairfax County’s Skindeep Tattoo Removal program, which offers free laser removal of gang tattoos for court-involved youth; and serves as a volunteer plastic surgeon for Ecuadent, a non-profit that provides cleft lip and palate repair and reconstructive surgery for congenital hand and foot abnormalities for children in Ecuador.

Dr. Rao has contributed to numerous book chapters and articles in peer-reviewed medical journals. He has presented at national conferences, such as the annual meetings of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery and the American Association of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Rao also serves as a peer reviewer for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
