Dr Tessema was scheduled to see me because my usual [staff] was not available for several months. I had broken my glasses and needed a new prescription to replace them.

I think she provided good opthamology services, however, I usually receive the optomotry tests such as the visual field. I did not receive this. Had I receive the tests, her score would have been an excellent

Both the ophthalmologist and her assistant, [staff], evaluated the health of my eyes to my satisfaction. An in-office YAG laser treatment of my secondary cataract was performed, and I am very satisfied with the restoration of the vision in my right eye.

This was my second annual visit with Ruth Tessema, MD, great bedside manner and very detailed.

Dr Tessema and her assistants provided excellent care concerning my need for cataract surgery. After my examinations by several of her assistants and ultimate herself, she suggested options for the types of lens used to correct my astigmatism and informed me that it is my choice of lens. She postponed my surgery date because I ware hard contact lens for 60 years. Follow up appointments will check for my eyeball shape to stabilize. Then, Dr Tessema will schedule surgery.

Dr Tessema was thorough In reviewing my medical history and my concerns. She addressed my medical issues in a way I could understand.

Quick examination of both eyes was performed. The result was that everything is ok. I know everything is probably not ok. Late [staff] was my opthalmologist for more than a decade. He mentioned that my eyes were showing signs of cataract. Although there was no urgency to operate and fix It at the time he examined my eyes, maybe now the situation was probably worse than four years ago when [staff] examined me. I hoped that the Dr. I saw recently would mention the cataract, but she said nothing about it.

She listened to my experience of waking to a very cloudy experience with my vision, frightening to me. Examined eye, gave prescription to help with follow up next week to my scheduled appointment. IPhoned in my problem and frighten concern about my vision. I was seen the same day. So very grateful. I was scheduled with a regular ophthalmologist and not a dry eye specialist, as I had intended when I made the appointment after calling the number listed on the Wilmer dry eye center page. A specialist will do additional testing to assess dry eye issues. Ultimately my fault for not specifying the exact dr name when scheduling, but I did not know until the tech informed me upon intake. This is why the visit gets a 5.

Several people took care of me during testing. It was the same at the Johns Hopkins location. I do not recall practitioners introducing themselves. I am not sure which provider was Dr Ruth Tessema, but all people who cared for me were professional and did a good job.

I'm being treated for glaucoma, but I don't get other eye tests to the extent I did at the office of my former doctor.

Dr. Tessema personable and explains things very thoroughly. She examined my eyes to determine what the best treatment would be for my dry eyes. I had a non-arteritic ischemic optic neuropathy in January 2023. At this point she did not think that I needed to use a prescription for the condition. Both my husband and I will use her for our future annual visits.
