Rosalie Iyelie Monkono, DNP

Rosalie Monkono, D.N.P., F.N.P., A.C.N.P., is a family medicine nurse practitioner with Johns Hopkins Community Physicians who is passionate about providing compassionate, holistic and patient-centered care. She believes in building strong relationships with patients and families through shared decision-making, trust and understanding.

Born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, and raised in Lakewood, Washington, N.P. Monkono’s passion for healthcare began early in life. She grew up watching her grandmother care for women during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum recovery in underserved communities. In areas with limited access to healthcare, her grandmother often provided care and even delivered babies in her own living room. Witnessing this dedication to helping others inspired N.P. Monkono’s lifelong commitment to serving patients with compassion and dignity.

N.P. Monkono completed her undergraduate studies in Spokane, Washington, and graduate training in Seattle, Washington. She developed a deep love for bedside nursing and continues to find joy in supporting patients through difficult moments while helping connect them to the resources they need for better health and wellness. She is committed to caring for the whole person physically, emotionally and culturally, and strives to make every patient feel heard, valued and supported.

Outside of work, N.P. Monkono enjoys spending time with family and friends, practicing self-care and organizing community healthcare awareness events.
