Dr. Mahoney performed a minor outpatient procedure on me. During the procedure he explained everything he was doing and frequently asked if I was doing ok and if I felt any pain.

Dr Mahoney is an expert eye surgeon. About 5 years ago he repaired an unsatisfactory prior operation on my left eye by another surgeon. Now he will be doing a similar corrective procedure on my right eye. The outcome of the prior surgery on my left eye was very successful. There was no question in my mind that I should return to Dr. Mahoney when the other doctors work on the right eye began to fail.

This was my very first visit. I felt very welcome, just like a patient who comes on a regular basis.

Only thing I would ask is for Dr Mahoney to introduce himself when he enters the room. He looked young (compliment) and was dressed casual (which was nice) and I had to ask if he is the doctor. Otherwise everything was explained briefly (which is fine for someone who is cognitively intact), and done efficiently. He was patient with my questions and I appreciate the validation of my ability to tolerate the procedure of the needle in my tear ducts with saline flush. I appreciate the referral to the dry eye doctor when no blockages were found.

I saw Dr. Mahoney several years ago for a similar problem. I was very happy to see him immediately this time.

I thought this provider was OK. Appointment started late, which irritates me. However, I understand doctors have compassion for patients before me who need to spend just a little extra time with the doctor.
