Background

Dr. Watkins received a bachelor of arts degree in Psychobiology from Harvard University and a medical doctor degree from the University of Chicago-Pritzker School of Medicine. She completed internship at Georgetown-INOVA Fairfax Hospital followed by a Diagnostic Radiology residency and Neuroradiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Prior to joining Johns Hopkins, Dr. Watkins was a staff Neuroradiologist for Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center and the director of the Bethesda outpatient center for American Radiology from 2006-2015. She then served as Sub Chief of Neuroradiology Mid Atlantic Permanente Medical Group from 2015-2016.

Dr. Watkins has served as a Neuroradiology course lecturer for the American College of Radiology, case review lecturer for the Radiological Society of North America and a reviewer for the Neuroradiology section of the Radiographics Journal.
