About Mohammad Ali Rai
Johns Hopkins Physician
Background
Ali Rai, M.D., is an infectious disease physician with Johns Hopkins Community Physicians. Dr. Rai has knowledge and expertise in helping patients work through and treat a wide-range of conditions and complex infectious disease challenges. A typical day for him could include treating a patient with a neurosurgery hydatid cyst in the morning and then working on a Naegleria case in the ICU in the afternoon. He enjoys the unique opportunity of working with both patients and medical colleagues in the hospital and clinical setting, and across the spectrum of age, disease and medical specialties.
Dr. Rai is a firm believer in the bench-to-bedside approach to medicine. He believes evidence-based approaches to medicine should always dictate the highest quality of care for his patients to ensure the best outcomes. He is proud to be a part of the Johns Hopkins health system where patient care comes first and is unmatched.
Dr. Rai had the unique opportunity of growing up in different cultures and training in different settings, which allows him to connect and provide care to a diverse group of patients. He enjoys reading, both fiction and non-fiction, and likes to spin a googly on the cricket field.
