Dr. Hanouneh grew up in Syria and completed his medical school in Tishreen University in Latakia, Syria. He completed Internal Medicine Residency training at Cleveland Clinic, and Nephrology Fellowship at Johns Hopkins.

Dr. Hanouneh currently serves as a part-time faculty in the Division of Nephrology at Johns Hopkins. He also works in the Nephrology Center of Maryland covering Good Samaritan and Upper Chesapeake Hospitals.

Dr. Hanouneh has a passion in medical education. He runs the nephrology board review course and participates in Genes to Society Course of Renal Physiology, which is given to the medical students at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His area of interests are electrolytes disorders, diabetic kidney disease and nephrolithiasis.
