Min Lu, MD

Min Lu is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement. He treats patients with hip and knee arthritis and joint pain, as well as those with a history of complex hip and knee trauma. His surgical expertise includes both first-time and revision joint replacement. He is experienced in total and partial joint replacement and various surgical approaches, including minimally invasive techniques such as anterior hip replacement.

After earning his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, Dr. Lu completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Chicago Medicine, followed by a fellowship in adult hip and knee reconstruction at the University of California, San Francisco. Before joining Johns Hopkins Medicine, Dr. Lu treated patients at OrthoBethesda and performed surgeries at Suburban Hospital and Sibley Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Lu’s research has examined preoperative risk factors for complications after joint replacement surgery, pain management strategies after knee replacement and surgical approaches for hip fractures. His work has been published in prominent medical journals, and he continues to serve as a reviewer for the Journal of Arthroplasty.
