Background
Dr. Puchalski is co-director of the Heart Institute and Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at Johns Hopkins All Children’s. He joined the hospital staff in 2020 and has doubled the size of the faculty while building the program into US News & World Report ranking. We are a Center of Excellence for Pulmonary Hypertension, Cardiomyopathy and Dysautonomia, and have clinics for cardio-oncology, muscular dystrophy, sports and prevention to name a few.
He was previously associate director of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City where he also served as director of noninvasive imaging and quality improvement for the Heart Center. Dr. Puchalski's academic output is over 60 peer-reviewed articles, dozens of book chapters in 4 separate texts and numerous talks both nationally and internationally. He is a fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography, the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology and is a reviewer for numerous medical journals.
He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit. He completed an internship and residency in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. He then completed a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at University of California San Francisco.
