Marie Depew, CRNP

Marie Depew is an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in the Neurosciences Critical Care unit (NCCU). She graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 1997 with a Bachelors in Psychology. Marie then went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in 1999. She worked as a critical care nurse in the NCCU as well as for Hopkins Lifeline, the Johns Hopkins Critical Care Transport team from 1999-2005. Marie earned her Master’s of Science from the University of Maryland in 2004, when she completed the blended NP/CNS Acute Care Master’s Program specializing in Trauma, Critical Care and Emergency Nursing. She has been working as an Acute Care NP in the NCCU since April of 2005. Marie was one of the founding members of the Nurse Practitioner team established in 2005 and is an active member of the NCCU’s clinical practice committee, where she works on enhancing safety and communication during handoff. She serves as a preceptor for Nurse Practitioner Students and gives annual lectures to NP Students at the University of Maryland School of Nursing, where she holds an adjunct Faculty appointment. Marie was awarded the Miller-Coulson Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Clinical Excellence Award in 2018. She served on the Inaugural Advanced Practice Advisory Council from 2018 to 2020 and completed the Advanced Practice Leadership Academy in 2025.
