Marc D Connell, MD

Dr. Marc D. Connell is an orthopaedic surgeon at Sibley Memorial Hospital. He practices out of Washington Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, located at Sibley Memorial Hospital, K Street and Chevy Chase, MD. Dr. Connell was president and managing partner of Washington Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine from its inception until 2014. 

Dr. Connell earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from Georgetown University, where he also completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery. He then completed a sports medicine fellowship at Yale University Hospital.

Dr. Connell regularly appears as a Washington "Top Doctor" and was named a Top MD in 2013 by Consumers’ Checkbook Magazine. He was the head team physician for the Washington Wizards for 21 years, the head team physician for the Washington Mystics and a team physician for the Washington Capitals. He was also the chief medical officer for World Cup Soccer and Olympic Soccer. In addition, Dr. Connell is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
