Malcolm M DeSouza, MD

Malcolm DeSouza, M.D., is an obstetrician-gynecologist with Johns Hopkins Medicine Gynecology and Obstetrics. He cares for patients with a wide range of needs, including general gynecology, pregnancy care, perimenopause and menopause treatments, and several gynecologic procedures and surgeries.

Dr. DeSouza enjoys working closely with his patients and ensuring they feel safe, comfortable and supported. He takes time to explain medical conditions and treatment options.

With patients who are pregnant, Dr. DeSouza works to create a calm and positive experience from the first visit through delivery. He finds it especially rewarding to care for patients and their newborns. He also has special interest and experience in helping patients through perimenopause and menopause, a time of important physical changes.

During his training, Dr. DeSouza developed a strong commitment to caring for patients in underserved communities. He helped create an outreach clinic in Washington, D.C. and worked for eight years with the Washington Free Clinic, providing obstetric care and serving on the board of directors. After starting his practice in 1996, he continued to share his time and medical expertise through charity clinics, including the Catholic Charities Health Care Network.

Outside of medicine, Dr. DeSouza is a devoted husband and father of three daughters.
