Background
Lindsay Eyzaguirre brings nearly 20 years of expertise in scientific research, ranging from translational science to leading and managing multicenter clinical trials. Throughout her career, her work has focused on advancing organizational improvement strategies, optimizing clinical research operations, and supporting strategic growth initiatives across the clinical trial landscape.
Lindsay is an assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and clinical coordinating center director for BIOS Clinical Trials Coordinating Center (BIOS CTCC), a nonprofit academic research organization. Her early career was devoted to advancing epidemiologic research by studying the spread and evolution of the HIV-1 virus and by establishing training facilities and programs to strengthen epidemiologic research capabilities.
Over the last 14 years, she successfully led and managed both observational and interventional multicenter studies from securing funding through completion. As clinical coordinating center (CCC) director, she oversees the division’s CCC on numerous multicenter clinical trials, providing oversight across key functional areas including project management, site management, sIRB coordination, innovation and dissemination, and data and safety monitoring board (DSMB) coordination. Notably, she established and directs the DSMB unit, which supports investigators and DSMB members in organizing and implementing successful DSMB meetings. The DSMB unit currently supports 14 active studies, including six that are UG3-UH3 awards via the Helping to End Addiction Long-term Pain Management Effectiveness Research Network (HEAL Pain ERN).
As project lead for the NCATS-funded JHU Trial Innovation Center (JHU TIC) at BIOS CTCC, Lindsay provides trial operational expertise to enhance network-level processes across the Trial Innovation Network (TIN). She is currently spearheading the development and launch of a nationally offered program tailored for investigators and clinical research managers transitioning from single-center to multicenter clinical trials entitled, “Training Program for Multicenter Clinical Trial Management.” The Training Program focuses on critical competencies that are essential for engaging in and managing successful multicenter clinical trials.
Through her leadership roles at BIOS CTCC and the JHU TIC, Lindsay continues to advance the infrastructure, innovation, and operational excellence needed to support high-quality, impactful clinical research to advance healthcare.
