Julio Quezada, MD

Julio Quezada is a pediatric neurologist and behavioral neurologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of neuropsychiatric conditions among children and adolescents. He has expertise in functional neurological disorder, Tourette syndrome, and the intersection of neurological and behavioral health.

Dr. Quezada earned his medical degree from Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala City, Guatemala. He completed combined pediatric and child neurology residency training at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, followed by fellowship training in neuropsychiatry and behavioral neurology at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California.

Dr. Quezada’s clinical and research interests focus on functional neurological disorder, Tourette syndrome, clinical hypnosis, neuroethics and the relationship between brain, behavior and emotional well-being. His scholarly work includes publications on functional neurological disorder, Tourette syndrome, rare pediatric neurological diseases, medical hypnosis and pediatric bioethics.

In addition to his clinical, research and educational work, Dr. Quezada has held leadership roles in the Functional Neurological Disorder Society and other professional organizations, helping advance awareness, education and patient-centered care for individuals with functional neurological disorder, Tourette syndrome and other neuropsychiatric disorders.
