Background

Joon Kang, a neurologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of seizures and epilepsy, is medical director of the adult epilepsy monitoring unit. She has a particular clinical interest in the presurgical evaluation and treatment of patients with drug-resistant (intractable) epilepsy. 

Dr. Kang earned her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine, and completed her neurology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, where she also pursued fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy. 

Her research centers on multidisciplinary, data-driven approaches to improving epilepsy care for intractable epilepsy and on the development of advanced EEG and network-based biomarkers to enhance localization and treatment of epileptogenic zones.
