Background

Jon R. Resar received his M.D. from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1985. He completed an internal medicine residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He joined the faculty at Johns Hopkins in 1992 and is currently a Professor of Medicine/Cardiology. He was the past Director of the Adult Catheterization Laboratory and Interventional Cardiology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. His field of specialization is management of coronary artery disease and valvular heart disease.

Dr. Resar holds memberships in the American Heart Association and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Our group is interested in the evaluation of basic pathophysiology in patients undergoing cardiac procedures, development and evaluation of new therapeutic strategies, and improving patient selection and outcomes following interventional procedures.

He was amazing! Spent more time discussing my case than any other doctor I currently have. He even showed me the video of my surgery and explained what was happening throughout. He proactively mentioned Lipoprotein and ordered a test for it.

Dr .Resar was very professional and extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He sat down with me and my son and explained everything to us about my surgery and echo. He spent a considerable amount of time with us which Is very unusual now a days. He was super!!

Dr Resar is one of the top two physicians who have cared for me. He is extraordinarily smart, knowledgeable but also one who has great compassion and makes you feel like you're his only patient and he has all the time and attention you need devoted to you. He also has a wonderful sense of humor.

Dr Resar intervened at my request to take control of my cardiac health, accelerated by two months the determination of a plan for improving my cardiac health and provided a unique and forward thinking clinical trial for a very specific issue that needs to be addressed.
