Dr. Baer was great- listened to my description of the problem, asked appropriate follow-up questions and responded with easy-to-understand comments and instructions. He was very gentle when checking my right eye for any foreign bodies; and since I am a bonafide ""chicken"" when it comes to my eyes, this was very much appreciated.

Dr. Baer is not my usual provider. She was booked until April. I was able to get in to see him quicker. He was very professional, courteous, and informative.

Dr. Baer explained the course of treatment he wanted me to follow. However, this was the same course of treatment I had already performed before. I explained that to Dr Baer and told him I would be willing to start over.

I went to Wilmer as it is one of the best eye care places in the world. I had to ensure I did not have a retina detachment. Dr. Baer was thorough, answered even wacky questions I had about my eye and ensured I understood his replies.

I found the doctor to be engaging and professional. He even had a somewhat sense of humor. This was contrary to a number of reviews that stated he lacked bedside manner and was dismissive....This was NOT my experience.

My previous ophthalmologist retired and this was my first appointment with Dr Baer. Most of my appointment time was with a tech and not Dr Baer. He seemed nice enough but, to him, I was just an elderly woman representing another appointment in a long, busy day. There was little opportunity to develop a relationship with him so that he might understand that I worked for 40 years as a medical journal editor and would have appreciated more explanations as he went along testing for diabetic retinopathy.

This was my first visit with Dr. Baer. He is very personable and thorough. Even though this location is 30 min from my house, I plan to return next year for my annual checkup to see him.

Dr. Baer was very kind and clearly read the notes in my file for what was a last minute appointment, but seemed dismissive of my concerns and ultimately told me he had no idea what to do and gave me no recommendation for care.

Understands his assignment in examining me to determine the level as a new patient of care I need assign me to that doctor for my next visit in August. What better treatment can one get?????

Although he was polite and helpful, I tried raising concerns regarding my eye health compared to the eyeglasses that another optometrist was trying to sell me, and he said ""I won't meddle with consumer practices"" or something akin to he wouldn't give me advice because he didn't want to affect the business the other optometrist had. However, my concern was that the other optometrist didn't care about helping me and just wanted to sell me eyeglasses. I would have greatly appreciated a more in-depth response and even advice.
