Jodi-Ann Soshannah Edwards, MD

Dr. Jodi-Ann Edwards is a dedicated surgeon, researcher, and public health advocate committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Before Hopkins, she was a General Surgery Resident Physician and Research Fellow at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York, where she combined advanced surgical training with clinical and public health research. Dr. Edwards earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine. Her work focuses on improving surgical outcomes, reducing healthcare disparities, and advancing quality improvement initiatives that benefit diverse patient populations.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Edwards is an accomplished researcher and educator with numerous peer-reviewed publications and national presentations on topics including surgical outcomes, health equity, acute pancreatitis, and medical education. She has received multiple honors for her leadership, research, and service, including the Association of VA Surgeons Best Resident Quickshot Presentation Award and the SUNY Downstate Outstanding Service Award.
