About Jing Sun
Background
I am an infectious disease epidemiologist with extensive training in clinical medicine, advanced epidemiological methods, and statistics. My research primarily explores accelerated aging and comorbid conditions such as cancers, obstructive lung diseases, and liver diseases in individuals aging with HIV. The focus of my K01 career development grant was to delve into the influence of nuclear and mitochondrial genetics, as well as mitochondrial function, on comorbidity burden and accelerated aging in people living with HIV. My training and research have enabled me to lead various studies on non-AIDS defining cancer burdens, identifying risk factors, and developing screening strategies for individuals with HIV.
