Background
Dr. Jessica LaRosa is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She is a clinician scientist whose areas of interest include pediatric ICU rehabilitation and mobility, simulation, and patient safety.
Her primary research focus is on advancing the safety and best practices of early mobility to improve functional outcomes for survivors of pediatric critical illness. Her current research work is aimed at developing and evaluating unit-based interprofessional interventions utilizing simulation to optimize acute physical rehabilitation for children in the pediatric intensive care unit.
Dr. LaRosa received her undergraduate degree in neuroscience from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, where she graduated summa cum laude. She went on to receive her medical degree at Rutgers University Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Dr. LaRosa completed her residency in Pediatrics residency and chief residency at Columbia University-New York Presbyterian Hospital. She completed her fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in clinical investigations at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
