Background

Dr. Hoang is a professor of radiology and an accomplished physician-leader with a deep commitment to research, teaching and excellence in patient care. She currently serves as interim director of radiology for the Russell H. Morgan Department of Radiology and Radiological Science.

An expert in head and neck imaging, Dr. Hoang has authored more than 130 peer-reviewed articles, with a particular focus on thyroid and parathyroid imaging. Through her work with the American College of Radiology, she has helped shape national standards for the management of thyroid nodules and is a sought-after lecturer, nationally and internationally.

A dedicated educator, Dr. Hoang takes an active role in mentoring residents and postdoctoral fellows. Among her recognitions, she was honored as a faculty mentor by the Johns Hopkins resident graduating class of 2023.

Dr. Hoang earned her medical degree from the University of Melbourne, completed a diagnostic radiology residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, and pursued fellowships in neuroradiology and cardiothoracic radiology at Duke University Medical Center. She also holds a Master of Health Science degree and an Executive MBA from Duke University.
