About Jeffrey Lee Alvaro

Background
Dr. Alvaro specializes in pediatric psychiatry in the Institute for Brain Protection Sciences at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. He treats all psychiatric conditions in children and adolescents with a particular interest in ADHD, anxiety disorders and mood disorders. He joined the hospital staff in 1999.
Dr. Alvaro also is an affiliate professor in the department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences at the University of South Florida. He earned his medical degree from the University of South Florida, where he also completed a residency in general adult psychiatry followed by a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry. He served as chief resident during the final year of his fellowship.
Dr. Alvaro was awarded a USF Department of Psychiatry Outstanding Clinical Faculty Award 2003/2004; and he also was awarded the USF Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences, Child Psychiatry Fellowship 2014/2015 Educator of the Year.
