Background

Jacqueline Gallup is a full-time assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics. She is co-medical director of the Maryland Regional Neonatal Transport Program.

Dr. Gallup has conducted research in bronchopulmonary dysplasia and surfactant administration. Currently, her research interests include neonatal respiratory pathophysiology and management, neonatal hemodynamics and neonatal renal pathology. She is participating in projects including the Safety and Efficacy trial of Combined Erythropoietin and Melatonin for Preterm Neonates with Severe Intraventricular Hemorrhage (principal investigator, Shenandoah Robinson), as well as AWAKEN 2.0, a multicenter, multinational retrospective analysis investigating neonatal acute kidney injury. Dr. Gallup is also involved in quality improvement regarding nephrotoxin-induced acute kidney injury in neonates. Additionally, Dr. Gallup enjoys participating in education for residents and fellows.
