Background
Hanh-Tam Tran M.D., is a breast surgeon with the Sullivan Breast Center at Sibley Memorial Hospital and a clinical associate at the School of Medicine. She completed her breast surgical oncology fellowship at Anne Arundel Medical Center and her residency training at Medstar Union Memorial Hospital.
She has experience in breast surgery including breast-conserving surgery, nipple-sparing and skin-sparing mastectomy, remote incision lumpectomies and oncoplastic techniques.
Her current research is focused on identifying patients who could be omitted from having axillary surgery.
Dr. Tran earned second place for Top Abstract at the Breast Cancer Coordinated Care (BC3) Conference, Washington D.C. in 2018; second place for cancer research at the American College of Surgeons, Maryland Chapter Meeting and has published several articles on breast cancer diagnosis and surgery.
