Background
Dr. Gregory Diette is a professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He holds a joint appointment in the Department of Epidemiology in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He has over 20 years of experience diagnosing and managing complex and challenging pulmonary conditions. He is expert in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with common conditions such as asthma and COPD, as well as uncommon conditions such as allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA), bronchiolitis obliterans, hypersensitivity pneumonitis and others. His practice includes evaluation of patients with unexplained shortness of breath and cough as well as patients with a variety of environmental lung conditions. In addition to his outpatient practice, Dr. Diette provides inpatient care on the pulmonary, critical care and internal medicine services.
Dr. Diette earned his M.D. from the Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and performed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Johns Hopkins. He received his M.H.S. from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
His research interests include environmental impacts on lung disease, epidemiology of airway disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

- The Gregory Diette Laboratory studies the epidemiology of lung diseases. Our focus is on asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and environmental causes of lung disease, including allergens and particulate matter.
Research Summary
Dr. Diette is a pulmonologist with a research focus on environmental causes of lung diseases. His work in asthma and COPD has included examining the impact of air pollution, allergens, diet, urban environment and health care disparities. He has been funded by the NIH, EPA and other organizations for his research.

He took the time. I didn't really have a nurse explain anything to me. The doctor took care of me. He took extra time with me and explained all the procedures answered all my questions changed my medicine. I very much appreciate him and trust him implicitly.
