Background
Dr. Wu is a neuroscientist and electrophysiologist with academic and industrial, nonclinical and clinical experience. Trained in electrophysiology and pharmacology, Dr. Wu specializes in techniques such as whole cell patch-clamp analysis, single fiber/unit recording, and intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring, as well as imaging techniques including single cell live imaging, confocal microscopy, and automated high throughput or high content imaging. Dr. Wu has extensively researched pain and ion channel drug discovery, along with hands-on studies in human electrophysiology and psychophysics. He currently works on pain research with a special interest in the peripheral mechanisms of pain and itch.
