Background
Dr. Andrade is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at Johns Hopkins. He obtained his MD from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Dr. Andrade subsequently received his Internal Medicine training at the National Medical Center, and trained in Rheumatology at the National Institute of Nutrition, both in Mexico City. He obtained his PhD at Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Andrade's work is focused on mechanisms of systemic autoimmune diseases, particularly as these relate to cell biology, immune effector pathways of cell death and proteolytic mechanisms of viral clearance. Additionally, Dr. Andrade focuses on understanding the mechanisms that regulate protein citrullination.
