Background

Eva Seligman is a pediatric emergency medicine and primary care sports medicine specialist, and the director of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Program. She provides non-surgical care to school-aged and young adult athletes of all skill level in sports medicine clinic. She also cares for all children seeking emergency services in the pediatric emergency department. 

Her expertise includes emergency care, pediatric and young adults with sports injuries, concussion, female athlete sports medicine issues, acute and overuse injuries, stress fractures, muscle strains, and other musculoskeletal injuries of the shoulder, elbow, wrist/hand, hip, knee and foot/ankle. She also performs ultrasound and anatomical image-guided joint injections.

Dr. Seligman graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 2013, and completed her residency in pediatrics at McGraw Medical Center of Northwestern University in 2016. She completed fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine here at Hopkins and in primary care sports medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. During fellowship she cared for athletes of various levels as a physician for the Boston Ballet, Northeastern University Men’s Ice Hockey Team, and various high school programs. 

She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Sports Medicine, and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.

Research Summary

Dr. Seligman is engaged in various research efforts, including the management of acute knee pain, epidemiologic factors associated with concussions leading to emergency department visits. She is also invested in trainee education and using checklists to improve pediatric trauma resuscitation within an academic setting.
