Dr. Erika Pashai is a really nice person, and I like her. I appreciated that she was calm while I was not...because of my blood pressure reading moments earlier by her assistant. Three days prior, my blood pressure at my rheumatoid arthritis doctor's office was 133 (and has been in the ""good"" range for the past 10 years); but at Dr. Pashai's office, it was 157. My reaction was ""no way!"" although I know various factors can change blood pressure readings. The second time when Dr. Pashai took my blood pressure, it dropped to 153.

Initial visit. I found her to be very thorough and genuinely concerned about my health.

Dr. Pashai became my PCP after my move from Oregon to NoVa - and she's been wonderful getting to know me and my many prescriptions.

I waited 30 minutes on the phone. I wrote a note to see what was going on. Just then she came on. It was supposed to be a video call but my camera would not work so we just used the audio to talk.

Seemed somewhat scripted. Message I received after about my A1C score was definitely scripted and did not reflect our discussions about medication. A bit more eye contact would be nice.

This isn't the provider's fault. Hopkins and several other medical practices are shortening appointment times and rushing people though. 30 mins maybe needs to be 45 mins. Gives providers more time to remember they're people/interacting with human beings who are probably struggling with something significant if they're seeing you.

It is always a pleasure to spend time with Dr. Pashai. She pays close attention to my various outstanding medical conditions and reviews each one with me during each visit. It is obvious to me that she is very interested in my care. I truly look forward to my visits with Dr. Pashai.

Doctor Pashai does an excellent job of listening to the patient and quickly providing information responsive to the questions asked. She reviewed my blood work and provided feedback right away, addressing all the issues we discussed during the appointment.

I have had a good experience with Dr Pashai overall, but I don't feel that she took my issues super seriously at the most recent appointment. She was behind schedule and the appointment was rushed (which hasn't been true in the past). I imagine that the appointment would have gone better if her schedule was less packed or if appointments were scheduled for more than 15 minutes.

She was forthright, methodical, and thorough, all appealing qualities in yr dr. More important, she got back to me about my bloodwork w/in 48 hrs, writing her note to me on a Saturday afternoon! This is the first time I met this provider, w whom I hope to have a long-term dr-patient relationship, so I will still be assessing her for some time to come. She favorably impressed me and I have a physical scheduled w her on Nov. 6, 2025, and a video call w her on Sept. 15th.

She is a professional internist that is wise and mature beyond her age and experience. She is now my son's Doctor as well. She blends Tech, experience, research and her training to deliver the right information at the right time. She also knows how stop and say I am not an expert on so let's get referral or do someone reseach.
