Background
Eric Zhou is a pediatric anesthesiologist at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. He provides anesthetic care to neonatal, pediatric and adolescent patients undergoing complex surgical and interventional procedures.
After graduating with honors from Duke University with a major in neuroscience and minors in music and chemistry, Dr. Zhou received his medical degree from Tulane University. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and went on to finish a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School.

Research Summary
Dr. Zhou’s research interests focus on the intraoperative use of ketorolac and its effect on bleeding in pediatric patients. He was an investigator on a clinical trial examining ketorolac use in pediatric patients undergoing tonsillectomy (NCT03453541), and he has published original papers on the use of ketorolac in pediatric patients undergoing urological procedures.
