His lab is working to determine how blood pressure should be managed under general anesthesia, with emphasis on maintaining optimal organ perfusion. He is funded by the National Institutes of Health to study the vascular determinants of hypotension in anesthetized neonates and infants. He is also researching new ways to monitor pediatric regional anesthesia.
