David Whitmer Swenson, MD

Dr. Swenson specializes in pediatric radiology at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. He joined the hospital in 2025. 

He was previously employed as a radiologist at Rhode Island Medical Imaging in Providence, RI for more than 10 years, during which time he served as an associate professor of Diagnostic Imaging, clinician educator at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.  His roles included clinical work in pediatric, musculoskeletal, and adult emergency radiology, as well as departmental leadership in Quality and Operations.  

Dr. Swenson earned his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a medical internship at Abington Memorial Hospital in Pennsylvania, followed by a radiology residency at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where he also served as chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in pediatric radiology at Boston Children’s Hospital / Harvard Medical School.
