Dr. David Bond is a clinician-scientist with 20 years of experience in treating people with bipolar disorder. His main clinical interests are the diagnosis and treatment of early-stage bipolar disorder, bipolar depression, and co-occurring conditions like anxiety disorders and ADHD. He has been an investigator in numerous clinical trials investigating the effectiveness and safety of treatments for bipolar disorder. Dr. Bond co-authored the 2013, 2018, and 2021 Canadian Network for Mood and Anxiety Treatments/International Society for Bipolar Disorders (CANMAT/ISBD) Guidelines for the Management of Patients with Bipolar Disorder, the most widely used treatment guidelines worldwide. Dr Bond’s research focuses on the relationship between body health and brain health, and he has conducted brain imaging studies investigating the relationships between elevated body mass index, tobacco use, and brain illness progression in bipolar disorder. Dr. Bond leads the Johns Hopkins Hospital Bipolar Disorder Clinic.
