She completed residency training in dermatology at Stanford University, and served as chief resident during her final year. While at Stanford, Dr. Bax studied dermatomyositis, and completed a clinical research elective in rheumatology at the Myositis Center at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. She has published over 40 papers in high-impact journals, including Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Journal of Investigative Dermatology and the New England Journal of Medicine.
