Carissa Guishard-Gibson, MD

Carissa Guishard-Gibson, M.D., comes to Johns Hopkins Community Physicians with more than 16 years of experience, predominantly caring for the underserved community in Baltimore City. She earned her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in 2006 and completed her residency in internal medicine at Howard University in 2009.

Her expertise lies in providing comprehensive primary care, including procedures such as pap smears, IUD removals and Nexplanon insertions and removals. Dr. Guishard-Gibson is dedicated to shaping and improving health outcomes while forming lasting relationships with her patients. She believes in the importance of preventive medicine and encourages her patients to be active participants in their healthcare by reducing risk factors for future disease through lifestyle modifications and preventive screenings.

A member of the American College of Physicians since 2010, Dr. Guishard-Gibson has deep roots in the community. She lives in Howard County with her husband and three children. Originally from New Jersey, she enjoys spending time with her family and engaging in activities that promote health and wellness.
