About Brit Adler
Primary Academic Title
Assistant Professor of Medicine
Johns Hopkins Physician
Background
Dr. Brit Adler is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at Johns Hopkins University. She is building a career as a translational physician-scientist with a focus on Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and infection-associated chronic illnesses. Her interest in this area emerged from her work in general rheumatology, where she frequently encountered patients with POTS, an often-overlooked and understudied condition. She is particularly interested in investigating the immune dysregulation underlying POTS, Long COVID, and Chronic Lyme Disease. By leveraging her prior experience in autoantibody discovery in rheumatic diseases, Dr. Adler aims to deepen our understanding of these conditions.
In addition to her work in general rheumatology, Dr. Adler leads a dedicated POTS clinic and evaluates patients in the Hopkins Autonomic Lab, furthering her commitment to improving care for patients with autonomic disorders.
She earned her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Following this, she pursued a clinical and research fellowship in Rheumatology at Johns Hopkins.
This provider is registered with the Florida Department of Health to perform telehealth services for patients in Florida.

Dr. Adler is the best doctor I've ever met. She diagnosed me with an incredibly rare disease that Mayo, Cleveland Clinic and many other doctors missed. She listens well, explains things well and is incredibly competent. She is caring, knowledgeable and very helpful.

The provider was late and made comments throughout the appointment that she had to move quickly to see other patients. As a result, I don't feel that I fully understand the plan moving forward. I checked the after visit notes on MyChart but those were unhelpful

She was late again and showed no regard for the patient's time. It takes me almost two hours to get to the hospital, and I'm always on time. Why can't she do the same? This was second time she was running behind. Which is strange because my appointment was for 12:30, and she had two patients before me. According to her office, she does not see patients before 12:30. I waited 1 hour and 35 minutes from when I was brought to the back with the nurse to when I was seen by the doctor. This is unacceptable.

Dr Adler is very personable, kind, caring and thorough. She ask me important questions and intently listened to my responses as to be able to evaluate the medical assessment as needed. She ordered blood work exactly as expected to help her evaluate the concerns that I expressed. I would highly recommend her to my family or anyone else in need of her expertise.
