Ben Ham III, MD

Dr. Ham specializes in pediatric general and thoracic surgery, with an additional focus area on esophageal and airway treatment surgery (EAT), at Johns Hopkins All Children’s. He joined the hospital staff in 2026.

He was previously interim surgeon-in-chief, medical director of pediatric surgery, and pediatric surgery fellowship program director at Golisano Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, as well as clinical assistant professor in the Department of Surgery in the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo. There, he was the pediatric surgery leader of the aerodigestive team and taught national and international courses and skills labs for minimally invasive surgeries for thoracic, abdominal, and esophageal conditions.

He completed a residency in general surgery and pediatric surgery research at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University, followed by a pediatric surgery fellowship at Jacobs School of Medicine/ Golisano Children’s Hospital of Buffalo and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

He also earned a Master of Science in physical chemistry from the University of Georgia.
