Research Summary

Dr. Patsalos’s research is focused on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of tissue repair, particularly in the context of regenerative inflammation. He investigates macrophage subtype specification, the transcriptional landscape in muscle injury and dystrophy, and the role of key transcription factors and growth factors. His work aims to improve muscle regeneration by modulating the immune response and exploring novel therapeutic approaches for treating muscular dystrophy and other debilitating injuries.
