Background
Dr. Kiskaddon is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Divisions of Hematology and Cardiology, at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She is the Co-Director of the Center for Pediatric Early Phase Trials at the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Institute for Clinical and Translational Research, and a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in the Heart Institute at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. The research that Dr. Kiskaddon leads focuses on thrombosis and hemostasis in children with congenital and acquired heart disease. She serves as the Primary Investigator for a multicenter study evaluating treatment and outcomes of venous thromboembolism in children with cardiac disease.
After receiving her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, she completed her pharmacy practice residency at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, and her pediatric pharmacy residency at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas. Dr. Kiskaddon was the clinical pharmacy specialist for CVICU/cardiac transplant at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, before assuming her current role as Assistant Professor and pediatric cardiac hemostasis/thrombosis/antithrombotic clinical pharmacy specialist.
Dr. Kiskaddon received the Eberhard E. Mammen Award for the Most Popular Article in 2023 and the Young Investigator Award in 2024. She is Chair of the Cardiac Disease Thrombosis and Hemostasis Working Party of the Pediatric and Neonatal Subcommittee of the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis Scientific and Standardization Committee, and is actively involved in the American Heart Association and the multi-institutional group of pediatric antithrombotic therapy trialists, CPC Clinical Research - Pedi-ATLAS. She serves as a DMC member of the Cangrelor Pediatric Program (Europe) and has contributed to consensus statements on thrombosis and hemostasis by the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation and the American Association of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Kiskaddon speaks nationally and internationally on pediatric thrombosis, hemostasis, and antithrombotics.
