Allison Michelle Blatz, MD

Dr. Blatz specializes in both pediatric critical care medicine and pediatric infectious diseases at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. She joined the hospital staff in 2025.

Dr. Blatz earned her medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences in Washington, D.C. She completed her residency in pediatrics at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland. She then completed a pediatric infectious diseases fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, followed by a pediatric critical care medicine fellowship at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware.

Additionally, she earned her Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine with concurrent completion of a clinical pharmacoepidemiology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine as part of a NIH T32 program.

Dr. Blatz will care for children in the pediatric intensive care unit as well as those being treated by the infectious diseases service. Her research interests are pediatric sepsis and acute viral syndromes in critically ill children.
