Alison Yiting Ou, OD

Alison Ou, O.D. is an optometrist practicing at the downtown Baltimore, Green Spring Station, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and Odenton locations of the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Dr. Ou graduated from UCLA with a degree in Psychobiology before earning her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry, where she graduated summa cum laude. After graduation, she practiced for two years in Chicago before pursuing residency. She developed a strong interest in specialty contact lenses during her time in clinical practice, and she is excited to continue expanding her skills. As an optometry resident, Dr. Ou delivers comprehensive eye care, including routine examinations, specialty contact lens fittings, management of ocular surface disease and glaucoma, and the evaluation and triage of complex ocular pathologies.

Dr. Ou is also passionate about combining art and visual learning to help students, patients, and clinicians better understand ocular structures and clinical concepts. She uses her artistic skills to create easy-to-understand patient education materials that help explain eye conditions and treatments. Her artwork is currently displayed at the Illinois College of Optometry Research Center and the National Board of Examiners in Optometry headquarters, and she is developing an interactive ocular anatomy drawing application to advance education.
