Dr. Leucker regularly attends in the Cardiac Critical Care Unit (CCU) and Advanced Lipid Disorders Clinic at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He leads investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials integrating translational vascular biology, advanced cardiovascular imaging, and human mechanistic studies to develop novel approaches for cardiovascular prevention and treatment, with particular interest in residual inflammatory cardiovascular risk, HIV-associated cardiovascular disease, and acute coronary syndromes.
Dr. Leucker earned M.D. and Ph.D. degrees summa cum laude from University of Bonn and completed Internal Medicine training at University of Louisville followed by Cardiovascular Disease fellowship training at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he served as the Henry R. Kravis & Marie-Josée Chief Cardiology Fellow.

As was the case most of the time, this was a TeleMedicine visit with Dr Leucker. I live over an hour away and this works for me because he handles just my high cardiac calcium count/high cholesterol scores. He has found a combination of medications that I do not have allergic symptoms and my cholesterol is down significantly.

Dr Leucker Is outstanding. He continued to ask if I had questions, he was very thorough in his explanations. I felt like he cared about me as a person.
