Background
Neda F. Gould, PhD is a clinical psychologist and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She also serves as Director of the Mindfulness Program at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
In addition to treating patients with anxiety and depression using cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), one of her primary areas of interest is teaching Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and other mindfulness programs to patients, as well as to faculty and staff to address stress and burnout. She is certified in MBSR through the University of California San Diego Mindfulness-Based Professional Training Institute. She regularly leads clinical and professional mindfulness programs and has been the mindfulness interventionist for several randomized clinical trials. Dr. Gould is a member of the Johns Hopkins Miller-Coulson Academy of Clinical Excellence.
She completed her PhD in clinical psychology through a joint Graduate Partnership Program between the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) intramural research program and The George Washington University. She subsequently completed an internship at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and a clinical research post-doctoral fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine before joining the faculty.
She lectures nationally and internationally on the benefits of mindfulness for well-being.
